So what is Komkomber Stoba? The name actually says it. Cucumber Stew. It is a stew made of a local vegetable, Komkomber chiki = small cucumber. The name may be a little misleading, but it is also known as West Indian Gourd. Typically this is a vine that has become very popular for this dish. The surface of the vegetable has small spines. The flesh within is light green and the flavor is similar to that of a cucumber.
Komkomber Stoba consists of these elements:
- Komkomber chiki | West Indian Gourd
- Sweet onions, potatoes, pumkin
- Salted pig tail
- Salted beef
